Project Description: What is the project? What are the goals and objectives? Why
have you chosen this project? How will you reach your goals? Identify all group
members other than yourself.
The project consisted of organizing a model united nations conference in our
school for all the students that were part of the activity, so that they could
participate. Our goal was to have a successful conference so that the school was
more involved in this activity. I chose this project because I believe that MUN is a
great activity. It allows students to have a better informed and open minded
perspective of important issues around the world. I remember how much fun I had
when I had attended conferences in other places and wanted to give the same
opportunity to my peers. In order to have the activity turn out the way we want we
had to be organized and make sure everyone did their part and knew what the
others were doing. We had to manage our time so that everything would be ready
the day of the conference. To achieve this I worked with Roger Padierna, Nicole
Maldonado and Karey Shi.

Give a brief explanation of how the outcome (s) will be addressed. Use an extra

I will address learning outcome 1 by taking a new perspective on the activity to try
to learn more and develop my skills.
Learning outcome 2, by undertaking a challenge I have never had before of
organizing an entire conference, and being a moderator for the first time.
Learning outcome 3, by planning the event and how to raise money for it.

Learning outcome 4, by working with my peers to achieve the best result possible.
Learning outcome 5, by giving this my best and not giving up until I achieve what
we plan together.
Learning outcome 6, because MUN is all about being engaged with issues of global
importance.
Learning outcome 8, by doing something I have never done before, and a result,
through it learn new skills.
Final Results: What do you hope to accomplish as the results of your work? What
do you expect to learn?
I hope that we can accomplish a successful and organized conference which
is able to include as many people as possible. To make emphasis on our
international community by making more students aware of the main issues that
are happening around the world. Through organization and documentation we hope
to leave some sort of legacy so that future generations can continue making these
conferences and eventually invite people from other schools. If we are able to
include more people, more perspectives and more ideas, the outcome would be
more beneficial for everyone involved.
I expect to learn something from each of the participants. Being in an
international school, each student has a different and valuable perspective of the
topics. Since I will be a moderator, I will have to learn everything I can about the
topics selected from the perspective of each country in the committee. I expect to
learn to pay more attention to detail and remember more things. This is because I
have to make sure that all the information provided by the delegates is relevant and
accurate. Since we have to choose the topics that they will be debating, in the
process I will have to be more aware of world news. I will learn to stay informed and
actively aware of worldwide issues.
