Analysis of the Arguments Genres
Position: Evidence base persuasion and reasoned point of view, positon arguments are based on
personal believes and ethical values depending on the changing conditions of the discord. One of
the important aspects is who is the audience? How they are connected to the issue?. In the
articles we need it to read for the class there where some examples of positions base argument
on, The discussion about the Third party system, some were in favor and some were against.
Some of the authors argued the two party system is not perfect but it works because having to
many political parties could create un-efficiency in getting things done and the others argued
that multiple party system could help in the options people have when it comes to a multiple
party system and would more representative of the political ideology and in line with peoples
values. Another example that I saw is in a political cartoon by Daryl Cagle;

Here we can see that Artist uses a position genre to reflect his point view, In the wake of the
peaceful protest in Baltimore the media focus on the looting instead of the issue of civil rights
and equality.
In relevance to my issue there are those who support a Universal Health Care system, we have
the position that all Americans have the right free health care no matter the social status or
income and that we should have equal medical treatment. Those who oppose the use a different
argument what we must also consider, Those that oppose are weary of government being involve
with personal lives as well as personal accountability which are things that can be discussed and
argued.

Proposal and Proposal Logic: Defining the problem and coming up with a solution depending on
the social factors, through this genre we mediate social situation and the text that responds to the
situation. As in other genres we need identify the audience offer proposal to the issue and provide
a fitting response, The assignment article we have to read for call use this kind of genres, In The
Syrian refugee crisis conversation, some of the authors provided ideas to how best solve this
issue, One of the Authors Like Oliver Stuenkel argued the Brazil can become a major player in
the geo-political scene by taking refuges, others like Ibrahim Friahat explain how the gulf
nations could increase their economy by aiding the refugees as wells are decrease the number of

extremist. I also saw an example in the AdCouncil that argued for food safety by providing more
information on how to handle food to keep it save and clean and decrease in possible illnesses.

In relevance to my issue we can use this type of genre as

proposal to an issue that we have in America. With universal
health care system we can tackle the issue if the uninsured,
medical debt, and corruption in the insurance companies, and be
able to provide a health care system that is fair for all.

Evaluation: Focus on performance and measure the performance against the

set stander or criteria and arrive at justification of such reason, some of the
questions that arise from an evaluation are; who can use it, does it work in
other context, what the values and believes are embodied what is the
political and ethical implication. We use evaluations to see if such product,

information meets the standers that have been set for it, In one of the
Articles I read for the assignment #BlackLivesMatter: How the world sees
Eric Garner, Michael Brown cases by Amana Fontanella-Kahn, She provides
information in how other countries sees the united states from the outside,
Some countries argue that how we can call out on human rights when we
have our set of human rights issue in our country as other countries tried to
justified what they do by comparing themselves to us.
In relevance to my issue we can use evaluation genre to find out if a
universal health care system works we can use the data we have on other
modern countries that have some type of universal health care system they
provide to their population, we can use such argument make the audience
understand the importance of the issue and why we need such change.
