Solve (x^2 + y^2)dx - 2xydy = 0?

Update: Hemant,
review your answer, there is something.
Update 2: Hemant,
Here's what I got. Is it the same as yours?
y^2 = X^2 + cx
Update 3: here's what I got
y^2 = x^2 + cx
where have I gone wrong?

Best Answer: First reduce the equation to standard form

(x^2 + y^2)dx -2xydy = 0
(x^2 + y^2)dx = 2xydy
0 = 2xydy - (x^2 + y^2)dx ---------->divide by 2xydx
dy/dx - (x^2 + y^2)/2xy = 0
dy/dx - x/2y - y/2x = 0
dy/dx -y/2x = x/2y -----------> Bermoulli's equation
Multiply the equation by 2y
(2y)dy/dx - (1/x)(y^2) = x

let V = y^2
--------->dV/dx = 2y(dy/dx)
dV /dx - (1/x)V = x
............- dx/x
I.F. = e^
---> = e^ -lnx
---> 1/x
V(1/x) = x(1/x)dx
V/x = x + c
V = x^2 + cx
y^2 = x^2 + cx
I hope this one satisfies your solution!!!

@ UMA : So you got y = x + cx. Who said it's wrong ?

. . . . . It's quite right. You can then write x - y = - cx
. . . . . and taking C = - c write your final answer as
. . . . . x - y = Cx which is exactly what I've got.
. . . . . You know, the constant in the general solution of a

. . . . . D.E. is an amazing thing.

. . .. . . As long as you don't break any laws, you can put
. . . . . . it in any form you like.
. . . . . . It is very plastic.
.........................................
( x + y ) dx = 2xy dy
2 dy/dx = ( x + y ) / ( xy )
2 dy/dx = ( x/y ) + ( y/x ) ........ (1)
Put ... y/x = v ... y = vx.
Then.. dy/dx = v + x.dv/dx.
From (1), then,
2 ( v + x.dv/dx ) = (1/v) + v
2x.dv/dx = (1/v) - v = ( 1 - v ) / v
2v. dv / ( 1 - v ) = dx / x
- [ (-2v) / (1-v) ] dv = (1/x) dx
- ln (1-v) = ln x + ln c
ln [ 1/(1-v) ] = ln ( cx )
1 / [ 1 - (y/x) ] = cx
x / ( x-y) = cx
x - y = Cx, ... where ... C = 1/c ........ Ans.
.........................................
CHECK

Let ... x - y = Cx ... (1)

Differentiating w.r.t. x,

2x - 2yy' = C
Multiplying both sides by x,
2x - 2xyy' = Cx
2x - 2xyy' = x - y ... from (1)
x + y = 2xy.dy/dx
( x + y ) dx = 2xy dy
( x + y ) dx - 2xy dy = 0, which is the given D.E.
