Field Experience
Experienced in coordinating and working with teams of employees and
volunteers to fulfill daily and seasonal responsibilities. Skill
development gained through a position as Forest Steward Coordinator
for the Assiniboine Forest Green Team.
Experienced in green action planning through experiential education
with Dr. Stephane McLachlan in courses including Living Rural
Communities and Environments and Critical Thinking in the
Environment. As a part of the course requirements, students were
required to develop, organize and conduct a green action project.
Knowledgeable in Manitobas natural landscapes through volunteer
positions at FortWhyte Alive and FortWhyte Alive Farms.
Written and verbal communication skills gained through study at a
West African University and co-founding a student led newspaper.
Further skill development gained through extensive travel throughout

Volunteer Experience
Teamwork and interpersonal skills developed through volunteering as a
youth and childrens ministry assistant at Living Word Temple and an
internship at local church body, Soul Sanctuary. Internship dates were
September 2013 to June 2014 and was for approximately 15-20 hours
per week. Volunteer position at Living Word Temple held from January
2013 to present for once or twice a month on Sunday mornings.
Leadership and interpersonal skills developed through acting as a
Youth Mentor at FortWhyte Alive Farms. Developed healthy
relationships with a group of inner city youth and educated them about
common farm practices. Volunteer term was held from February to June
2015 and was for approximately 2 hours every Monday evening.
Teamwork skills developed through the University of Manitobas World
W.I.S.E. Ambassador student group. Responsibilities included
developing and implementing two major global and cultural awareness
events throughout the 2012-2013 school year. Tasks included
contacting speakers, organizing promotional activities, general
marketing, and attending leadership and cross-cultural competency
workshops that took an approximate 70 hours of volunteer effort.
Leadership and teamwork skills developed through a year position as
Faculty Ambassador for the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment,
Earth and Resources. Faculty Dean, Dr. Norman Halden and Associate
Dean, Dr. Mary Benbow selected candidates for this position. Volunteer
time was spent answering questions at open houses and periodic
meetings to discuss action planning for the promotion of the Faculty to
high school and University 1 Students.
Academic Experience
Professional communication, critical thinking, and an interdisciplinary
knowledge of environmental issues related to human population,
sustainable resource development, pollution conservation,

environmental health, endangerment and preservation of species were


gained through study in the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment,
Earth and Resources at University of Manitoba. Course work developed
written and verbal communication skills through researching technical
information using peer reviewed journals, testing, examinations,
developing presentation materials, professional communication
assignments, and hands on experiences with environmental field
research in cross cultural environments.

Forest Steward Coordinator for the Assiniboine Forest Green Team
Responsible for coordinating green team employees and local youth
volunteers in daily tasks that contributed to the completion of seasonal
responsibilities. Various manual labour duties included litter removal,
graffiti removal, invasive species removal, and the wood chipping of
walking trails, which were a requirement each day despite adverse
weather conditions.
