Proposal
I, Betsy Compton, Assistant Principal of International Leadership of
Texas- Arlington High School will lead the training, development, and
implementation of School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and
Supports on the AHS campus, which currently houses 8th-10th grades. I will
document and analyze the process for EDAD 6389: School Internship, offered
through Dallas Baptist University during the Fall 2015 semester. The initial
training, development, and implementation will take approximately 12
weeks, however the program will be ongoing throughout the remainder of
the school year and into future years. I hereby commit to remaining the
leader of the PBIS team for the entire 2015-2016 school year and will ensure
training is provided for my replacement for the 2016-2017 school year if
needed.

Definitions
PBIS = School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
Training = Three 8 hour sessions, offered by Region 10 or ILT Special
Education Coordinator, Shannon Urbina
Development = Campus-Based decisions about rules, procedures, directives,
incentives, decorations, and publicity

9th Grade Core Representative = Ana Mariscal

8th Grade Core Representative = Kala Biscoe

Proposed Timeline
September 17th = Initial team meeting to discuss goals and implementation
September 25th= All members fully trained
September 29th = Launch part 1 of phase 1 (1st day of 2nd 6 weeks)
October 22nd = Team meeting
November 9th = Launch part 2 of phase 1 (1st day of 3rd 6 weeks)

Training
Returning AHS members will need the third 8 hour session to complete the
training. This will be conducted by Shannon Urbina on the AHS campus if
possible. Substitutes will be needed for Ms. Mariscal and Mr. Hillegass. Ms.
Velder and Ms. Biscoe have both completed all three sessions of the training.

Resources
Immediate Budgetary Need = 2 substitutes, date TBD
Short Term Budgetary Need = The team will solicit donations of goods to be
used for student incentives. No permanent/semi-permanent posters will be
created while at our temporary location.
Long Term Budgetary Need = Money may be needed from the campus funds
(or district wide through a district fund) for posters and incentives.

Data Collection
Data will be collected and analyzed through OnCourse Discipline Tracker.
Reports can be run to show data by the student, teacher, incident,
disciplinary action, time of day, day of the week, month, or year.

Measurements of Success
Data analysis will show the measure of success during the initial timeframe.
Data analysis later in the school year will provide a fuller picture of the
growth and needs of the program. Data collected through OnCourse will be
analyzed through lists, charts, and graphs. A faculty survey will also be
implemented and analyzed during phase 2. A student survey may also be
utilized later in the school year.
