    There were five home burglaries reported in Minneapolis Police 3rd Precinct Sector 2 between March 2nd and 9th. The burglaries occurred at various addresses and suspects gained entry by forcing doors, breaking windows, or entering through unlocked windows. Two businesses were also burglarized during this period by suspects prying open doors. Four vehicles were stolen, one with keys left inside, and two theft from vehicle reports were made. The 3rd Precinct Investigative Unit has one suspect in custody who is charged with one burglary but is being investigated in connection with other burglaries. Residents are reminded to practice crime prevention.

    Week of March 2 to March 9, 2010

    Sector 2 had five home burglaries for the above week: Date & Time
    Burglar(s) gained entry:
    by forcing a door 32xx Chicago Ave 3/6 bet.12noon -9:30pm
    nd
    through an unlocked 2 floor
    window 40xx 13th Ave So 3/8 bet.10:30am-7:45pm
    by breaking a window on a door 40xx Columbus Av 3/3 bet.5:45pm-10:20pm
    41xx 11th Ave So 3/6 bet.3:30pm-9:09pm
    16xx E. 32nd St. 3/2 bet.1pm-8pm

    There were no garage burglaries for the above week in Sector 2.

    There were two business burglaries during this time period in Sector 2.
    Sometime on 3/2 and 3/3 between 10:30 am to 10:00 am, unknown suspect(s) gained entry to
    the African Safari Meat Market at 405 E. Lake Street by prying a door. Loss: phone cards and
    coins from the register.

    On 3/5, between midnight and 7:44 am unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the Pineda Tacos
    at 311 E. Lake Street by prying a door. Loss: 3 small safes and cash.

    There were four auto thefts (one taken with keys in vehicle) and there were two theft from
    motor vehicle reports.
    Burglary update: 3rd Precinct Investigative Unit currently has in custody suspect, Dalon
    Anthony Fowler. So far he has been charged with one burglary but is being looked at as a
    suspect in others.

    It is important to continue to practice good crime prevention habits at home to prevent your
    chances of being a victim.

    Call 911 immediately if you see a crime in progress or anything suspicious.
