    Dear Friends, I am proud to serve as a co-host of a reception/fundraiser for the Republican Party Candidate for Columbus City Council, Mr. Ibrahima Sow. I would be honored if you join me for the event on October 23rd at a cool Senegalese restaurant called Dabakh. I believe that if Ibrahima wins this election, he will be the first immigrant to serve on Columbus City Council. This is history-in-the-making and I hope you can help me in supporting Ibrahima. A native of Senegal, Ibrahima has impressive credentials, from graduating from The Ohio State University, to working as an aide to former Ohio House Speaker Bill Batchelder. The event will be held as follows: Friday, October 23rd 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm Dabakh African Restaurant 2225 Morse Rd. Columbus, Ohio 43229 Please find the attached event flyer. I encourage you to read the following from and about Ibrahima: Message From Ibrahima: "Greetings, I am Ibrahima Sow and I am running for Columbus City Council. I ask for your support in my mission to serve as your voice in local government. My mother always said that America is a place where hard work really does pay off. She told us that this is a land of opportunity and promise. At the young age of eight years old I was able to see this virtue come to pass. My mother had a dream. She is a small business owner and her hard work is paying off. I decided to apply that principle to my life and was fortunate enough to graduate from The Ohio State University with a dual Bachelor's degree. During my collegiate matriculation I served as an aide at the Ohio Treasurers office and The Ohio House of Representatives. This experience and my service with the ETSS, United Way, and Mid-Ohio Food Bank matured my knowledge of public service. I then decided that in order to effectively serve I needed to properly understand. When I looked into my community I saw a great disconnect between the new Americans, minorities and basic resources. This disparity ignited a larger desire to work hard in efforts to progress a positive change. Too often are the outskirts of greater Columbus and New American citizens ignored in policy making with our current council. I decided that I would be the voice for those individuals and I ask that you support my voyage to keep not only American but Columbus, Ohio a land of opportunity and promise."
