Sight Words

baseword + suffix- s
The suffix- s is added to the end of a noun to make it plural
Example: chins
shells
The suffix -s is added to the end of a verb when speaking about
another person in the present
Example: he naps
she shops
my friend sits
To mark a word with a suffix -s
-underline the base word
-circle the suffix
***If there are digraphs, welded sounds, or bonus letters in the base word,
also mark them the way we have learned.
For example:
chin s
shell s
nap s
shop s

twenty
thirty
forty
fifty
sixty
seventy
eighty
ninety
hundred
thousand

In addition to the worksheets that will be given out for homework for phonics
practice. Please have your child practice reading and writing the words and
sentences on the CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant),glued sounds (-am, -an), and f,
l, s bonus letter word lists.
-Please make sure to initial all homework.
Reminders:
I was out of the building yesterday on Monday, October 19th for training. Lesson
plans were left with the substitute and regular instruction took place
