Criteria for assessment
The PST will demonstrate the following competencies:
Planning and managing teaching processes and assessment of learning outcomes
by
‘+ Planning and facilitating learning experiences which foster both collaborative and
independent learning (within a context of developing information technologies where
possible); and
‘+ Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on students’ progress to students, supervisors
and (where appropriate) to parents.
Communicating, interacting and working with students and others for learning by:
* Practising effective communication, engagement and room management;
‘+ Working collaboratively with other members of the staff to contribute to the general
well-being of the centre and its community within relevant legal and ethical
requirements.
Reflecting, evaluating and planning for continuous improvement by:
* Reflecting upon the output from students following planned activities;
* Relating assessment of activities and strategies to ensure it is appropriate for the
task; and
* Assessing to check student progress and engagement, identify specific areas of
interest to inform future planning

HD - High Distinction (Consistently high level of performance on all criteria)
This assessment should only be used for outstanding performance that is consistent across all criteria
D - Distinction (Consistently high level of performance on most criteria)
C- Credit (Good level of performance on the criteria for assessment)
P- Pass (Satisfactory level of performance on the criteria for assessment)
MF - Fail Level 1 (Marginally failed to demonstrate a satisfactory level of performance on
the criteria
for assessment but nevertheless shows potential for improvement)
F- Fail level 2 (Serious failure to achieve satisfactory performance on the criteria for
assessment)
