SCRIPT
TheAfricanUnionMissioninSomalia(AMISOM)todayhandedoveramodel
policestationtotheauthoritiesinCadaledistrict,inMiddleShabelleregionin
supportofefforttoenhancelawandorder.
TheAMISOMStabilizationandEarlyRecoveryworkinggrouphandedover
thepolicestationtoSomaliPoliceForce(SPF)andthelocaladministration.

TheceremonywasattendedbyofficialsfromAMISOMincludingtheDeputy
PoliceCommissionerChristineAlalo,ChristopherOgwangAria,AMISOM
CivilAffairsOfficerandMr.EricWinfulfromAMISOMPolice.

Mr.MuhyadinSuudi,theCadaledistrictcommissionersaid,Thepeopleof
CadalewillnotforgettheirbrothersfromAMISOM,theseniorofficersfrom
SomaliPoliceForceandtheofficialsfromtheInteriorMinistryfortheeffort
theyhavemadetogethereaswellasdeployingthemuchneededpolice
officersinthedistrict.Wethankthemalot.BeforeAMISOMsgenerousaid,

noanyotherhelpwasreceivedinthisdistrict.Weneedtherefurbishmentof
policestations,hospitals,schoolsandwealsoneedcleanwater.

ThepolicestationwascompletedaspartofAMISOMsquickimpactprojects
programme,whichisimplementedinareasliberatedfromtheinsurgent
AlShabaab.

TheAMISOMDeputyPoliceCommissionerChristineAlalosaid,Aspartof
thestabilizationprogram,weareheretodaytohandoverapolicestationthat
wasbuiltbytheAMISOMandspecificallyforthestabilizationoftherecovered
areas.Youagreewithmethataftertheoperations,whenwehaverecovered
anumberofareas,itmeansthatweneededtostabilizethearea.Policework
shouldcomeintoensurethattheresruleoflawintheserecoveredareas.

OnOctober3,2014,theSomaliNationalArmy(SNA)supportedbyAMISOM
troopsliberatedCadaledistrictduringtheoffensivecodenamedOperation
IndianOcean.
