The IEP has six levels, from near beginning to advanced. ‘To be admitted into the IEP , a student MUST be able to (1) understand and write the English alphabet (2) write very simple sentences, (3) understand very simple reading passages, and (4) respond to very simple spoken questions. If you arrive at the ELI without those skills, you will NOT be able to study at UTA and will need to trans- fer to another program. The closest program that accepts “pre-one” level students is 15 miles away.
