What is Gender?

How many are there in spanish?

-Gender is the difference between man and


woman, male and female, or boy and girl.

There are only two masculine and


feminine. like el, la, las, los.

Identify feminine words


Feminine words
sometimes end in a.
you will also have
other endings. like -d
-z -ion.

examples. gata, la
felicidad, el tema, el
corazon.

Identify Masculine Nouns


If nouns end in o they
are usually
masculine.Like gato
and chico.

-But be careful with


some words like mano
although it ends in o
its feminine.( La
Mano)

Words You Should Pay Attention


Words u should pay attention to are the los,
las, la, lo and anything else that makes the
word change for more or less.
como un hombre and unos hombres
or las mujries and la mujiera. also words that
might look like masculines that are feminines,
or feminines that are masculines.

Numbers Of How Many


Las,and unas are for
women and los and
unos are for men.
You also add es to the
end of something
when there is more
then one.

when you want to say


something is fat for a
girl all u add is as and
men it is os.

Definite Articles
There are only 4 definite articles.
El-is masculine singular
La-is feminine singular
Los-is masculine plural
Las-is feminine plural
all things in definite article depend
on if the nouns are
masculine,feminine,plural, and
singular.

Indefinite Articles
There are only 4 forms of indefinite
articles.
Un-is masculine singular
Una-Feminine singular
Unos-masculine plural
Unas-feminine plural
un gato is one male cat
but unos gatos can mean like 9 girl
cats and 1 boy cat.

a big difference in the sentence and

Making a noun plural


Making a noun plural you can add an
es or an s to the word like
el gato- one cat
los gatos- more then one or like
La universidad- the college
lass universidades - the colleges.

Two or more masculine plural would


be used.
compound nouns are always
masculine and formed by changing
el to los.
Compounds are always masculine
because they mix with feminine and
masculine words from plural and
singular.
