JULIET ABELO
Roger Abelo, then manager of Brigada News Philippine in Davao City, was instrumental in
Brigadas initial operations in southern Mindanao, with his perseverance and dedication to
work, infusing his unique talent in writing and radio broadcasting. Roger passed away in
May, 2013, and left behind wife Juliet, who was two-months pregnant, and their son.
Brigada Group of Company President and CEO Elmer Catulpos and wife Yelcy, who is
executive vice president, cannot forget the countless fruitful contributions Roger gave and
helped in the company's pursuit of success. In return, the company has and continues to
extend everything necessary to help the family Roger left behind fund for the childrens
education, allowances and school supplies.

VELARDE SISTERS
The couple Alfredo and Merlyn Velarde had worked for Brigada with utmost dedication and
selflessness, which are influential to the growth of the company. Alfredo who served as
circulation manager of Brigada News Philippines, helped in bringing up circulation with his
own unique style, resulting in remarkable sales. His wife Merlyn, worked as editor,
announcer and distributor of Brigada healthline products, also gave valuable contributions to
the company. Alfredo met an untimely death in Nov. 2011 and his wife passed away in Dec.
2013, leaving behind their three very young daughters.
Brigada Group of Company President and CEO Elmer Catulpos and wife Yelcy, who is
executive vice president, took cognizance of the Velarde couples contributions to the
company and vowed support for the surviving children, giving them the necessary
assistance to shore up their needs, like expenses for education, allowances, housing and
food provisions.
