Beautiful Fan, Symmetrical,

Asymmetrical, and Round
Arrangements
Fan,Symmetrical,Asymmetrical, and Round Arrangement:
The purpose for all of these arrangements was mainly for practice. It helped us
learn about these fur different types of arrangements for later on. For the fan
arrangement it was similar to a hand-held fan, fan out towards the back, a fairly
wide arrangement. For the symmetrical arrangement it was formed in a line, all of
the flowers were like steps, each flower behind the first one was taller, so it made
the arrangement fairly tall. For the asymmetrical arrangement, it was the same as
the symmetrical except it was shaped like an L, it had some plants jutting out on
one of the sides. For the round arrangement, it was basically a bowl and the
flowers were spaced out and filled and a circular shape. There was no theme for
this arrangement, and the colors of the flowers included; purple, dark green, light
green, peach, yellow, orange, red, white(with pink tips).
Materials List:

4 carnations
1 chrysanthemum daisy
3 liatris
6 leatherleaf
6 aster

Steps to create arrangement:

1. For the fan arrangement you line the back of the arrangement with
your leatherleaf, creating a fan effect.
2. Then you place the three liatris right in front of the leatherleaf but
space apart.
3. Next you take the aster and line that in front of the liatris but a
little bit shorter.

4. Next, you take your chrysanthemum daisy and place it front and
center of the arrangement as your focal point.
5. Lastly you place your carnations in between the gap of the aster and
the chrysanthemum daisy but shorter than the chrysanthemum daisy and
aster.

1. For the symmetrical/asymmetrical arrangement, you draw a line down

the middle of you flower foam.
2. Next you place a little bit of leatherleaf in the back, all of the stems
in the line but all of the plants offcentered, creating a small fan in the back.
3. Then you take liatris and put each stem one in front of the other, but
a little bit offset so you can see each one.
4. Next you take aster and place that in front of liatris, but a little bit
shorter so it doesnt block the liatris.
5. Then you take the carnations and put them on the line still, and very
close together.
6. Then you take the chrysanthemum dasiy and put it in the very front
of the arrangement coming towards you.
For the asymmetrical, all you do is take some of the leather leaf and aster and
stick it in the side of the foam, creating an L shape.
7.
1. For the round arrangement, you first line the foam with the
leatherleaf creating a collar.
2. Then, you but the three liatris in a triangle, spaced out.
3. Next you place you chrysanthemum daisy in the middle of the foam
block.
4. Then you evenly distribute your carnations between the triangle.
5. Lastly you fill in the gaps with the aster.

Standards addressed in this arrangement:

The standards addressed in this arrangement, include; a mass flower, filler
flowers, and a line flower. It also brings up the principles of design, like balance,
variety, proportion and unity. It shows all of the elements of design:

line, shape, form, space, depth, color, value, and texture. The possible career would be

a florist.
Critique:
I liked the different shapes of the arrangement and the different variety of
colors for the carnations. I also enjoyed the vibrancy of the liatris and how they
were tall and linear to shape the arrangement. However, I did not like how the
asymmetrical arrangement was uneven on one side, even though that is how it is
supposed to be.

Summary:
I learned that I need to work on proportioning the flowers so I can make my focal
point more prominent. I also learned to shorten my flowers enough so they dont
block the ones behind them. Also, not to make big holes in my flower foam, because
otherwise it breaks apart in that area and doesnt hold the flowers as well. This
arrangement was important because it taught me the basics of floral design and
the different arrangement there are. This arrangement was all about places and
cutting and proportioning the flowers, so it brings the unity of the piece together.
