Human Rights Abuses in US

In 2014, Human Rights Watch wrote about broad misuse connected to the
privatization of offense probation administrations in a few US states. Working under a
"wrongdoer financed" model, probation organizations charge guilty parties specifically for
their administrations and may secure the capture of the individuals who neglect to pay.
Charges are organized in ways that punish poor people, and there is a general absence of
fitting government oversight or responsibility. (hrw.org) That is not by any means the only
significant issue. Torment is additionally the significant issue. Individuals didn't do torment to
criminal, however they do things that like torment, for example, joke. Misuse of detainees
doesn't need to be torment to be unlawful. Barbarous, brutal, and corrupting treatment (CID)
is likewise unlawful under global and U.S. law. But since of the principles doesn't strict,
torment still happens in US. From proclamation above we can see that in view of US didn't
put strict standards, individuals have neediness and torment to detainees issue. But thats not
the biggest issue in US. The biggest issue is criminal justice for African-American people.
Racial disparities have long plagued the US criminal justice system. African American men
are incarcerated at six times the rate of white men, and three percent of all black males are
currently incarcerated in a state or federal prison. Racial disparities didnt only happens in
criminal justice, but happens in education, economic, etc. Obama new rules failed to bring

justice, such as torture, criminal justice for African-American people, and poverty in United
States.
The first topic I want to talk about is poverty. Poverty is huge major damage in all
country, but I want to talk about it because US is the number 1 country in the world. If the
best country has big poverty issues, the other countries maybe have more damage poverty
issues. If these issues in US didnt stop, there will be a criminal because they need money to
support their family. If they have no money, abduction, killing, and theft will be the only
solution for them to get money. People will do anything to protect or support their family.
According to Forbes, US poverty number is 4.5%, not 14.5%. (Worstall) From we can see US
actually already make progress to help poor people in US, but why some of the citizen have
poverty issues when the other have rid away from poverty. Poverty is tied with violence. The
best option for United States is to make a standard wage rules for every people that works in
US. For example, Indonesia government makes rules that people who have salary below Rp.
3.000.000,00 per month didnt have to pay taxes. If they get married, they didnt have to pay
taxes if theyre total salaries below Rp. 39.000.000,00 per year. They get extra salaries that
didnt get taxes for Rp. 3.000.000,00 if they have family or relatives that they have to adopt
for maximum of 3 people. Even though Indonesia have more poverty number than US, at
least they try to help all citizen that have poverty issues.
The second topic I want to talk is torture. According to Telegraph, the United States
was clearly guilty of committing "torture" against al-Qaeda suspects, President Barack
Obama said, offering an unflinching assessment of the CIA's secret kidnap and interrogation
programmes in the years after the September 11 attacks. That shows although US already
make CIA torture to prevent torture. But still torture was happens in US. Even Obama said
that in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 we did some things that were wrong. We did a whole
lot of things that were right, but we tortured some folks. Even the president said that the

government did torture people. Why people cant torture others? This is maybe the main idea
of people. Torture will still happens in US, even though they make new rules. But if they
make strict consequences for the crime, torture report will be decreased. Obama can change
the rules for torture crime. If not, at least change the CIA Torture leader or team because the
organization didnt work well.
The last topic is racial disparities in criminal justice. According to nncdglobal.org,
overall, the rates at which African Americans were arrested were 2.5 times higher than the
arrest rates for Whites. (Hartney) Racial disparities in criminal justice contributed to the
outrage that erupted in Ferguson, Missouri, following the August police killing of Michael
Brown, an unarmed 18-year-old African American. While Ferguson protests began in
response to that shooting, they revealed longstanding problems between the predominantly
black Ferguson community and the almost entirely white police force. From that, we can see
that even the president is an African-American, racial disparities still happen in US. Not just
in criminal justice, racial disparities in education, and healthcare also happen in US. The
president need to make sure that every citizens is equal by making strict consequences for the
people who do the human rights abuses.
If everything Ive said is true, US citizens need to do some protest to the president to
change all the responsible person and make reliable rules. From the statement I told above,
we could see that racial disparities can make big problem to the country. Poverty and torture
sometimes related to African-American people because some of the African-American is
gangster and hard to find a job in US. From this essay, I just want to say that even the best
country in the world cant escape from human rights abuses. They need to make equality
rules to everyone and if it didnt happens, they need to punish all people that break the rules.
