SONG Booklet
1) The Moose Song
There was a great big moose
He liked to drink a lot of juice
There was a great big moose
He liked to drink a lot of juice
Chorus: Singing whoa-oh-oh-oh
Way-oh way-oh way-oh way-oh
Way-oh, way-oh!
Way-oh way-oh way-oh way-oh
The moose's name was Fred
He liked to drink his juice in bed
The moose's name was Fred
He liked to drink his juice in bed
He drank his juice with care
But he spilt some in his hair
He drank his juice with care
But he spilt some in his hair
Now there's a sticky moose

We are Juniors, we are Juniors,

In a ring, in a ring.
We are Girl Scout Juniors, we are Girl Scout Juniors
Hear us sing, hear us sing.
We discover, we discover
Things to do, things to do.
We are ready helpers, we are ready helpers.
How about you, how about you?

3) Make New Friends

Make new friends, but keep the old.
One is silver, the other is gold.
A circle is round, it has no end.
That's how long, I will be your friend.
The sky is blue, The Earth is green
I can help, to keep it clean
Across the land, Across the sea
Friends forever, We will always be

Girl Scouts, that's us!

She's got a G for generosity

Can a Girl Scout reach the top?

Yes we can, yes we can!

She's got an L for loyalty, for loyalty

She's got an S for her sincerity
She's got a C for curiosity
She's got an O.U.T. for out-door life, out-door life
And that's a real Girl Scout!

Can a Girl Scout make new friends?

Yes we can, yes we can!

Yes we can, yes we can!
Can a Girl Scout be a leader,
Guiding all who look and see her?

6) Boom Chicka Boom

I said a boom chicka boom,
I said a boom chicka boom,
I said a boom chicka rocka chicka rocka chicka boom.
Uh- huh, Oh yeah, One more time,
A little bit faster (do next verse faster)
A little bit slower (do next verse slower)
A little bit softer (do next verse softer)
A little bit louder (do next verse louder)

7) Down By the Bay

Down by the bay,
Where the watermelons grow,
Back to my home,
I dare not go
For if I do,
My mother would say:
Did you ever see a moose kissing a goose?
Down by the bay
Alternatives: a whale with a polka-dotted tail
a bug sleeping on top of a rug

a fly wearing a tie

a bear combing his hair
llamas eating pajamas
a cat wearing lots of hats
A goose drinking apple juice
A goat riding in a boat
A cow with a green eyebrow
Rats wearing silk hats
Beans as big as submarines
Moose with a loose front tooth

8) The Star Spangled Banner

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

9) America The Beautiful

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
O beautiful for pilgrim feet,
Whose stern impassion'd stress

A thoroughfare for freedom beat

Across the wilderness!
America! America! God mend thine ev'ry flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!
O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America! May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness,
And ev'ry gain divine!
O Beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

10) Be Kind To Your ... Scouting

Friends
Be kind to your ... Scouting friends,
That's a pledge from one Scout to another.
Be kind to your leaders today,
'Cause for helping they don't get any pay.
Be kind to your neighbors and friends,
'Cause by caring you follow Scouting's letter.
... Scouting and friendship are grand,
And as we grow, the world will know,
We've made things better.

11) Girl Scout World

(Tune: I'd Like to Teach the

World to Sing)

I'd build a Girl Scout world

filled with love and laughter, too.
Grow Brownies small and Seniors tall,
Cadettes and Juniors too.
I'd like to teach Girl Scouts to sing, in perfect harmony.
I'd like to take them on a hike, and keep them company.
I'd like to see Girl Scouts today,
all standing hand in hand
And hear them echo through the world
for peace throughout the land.

Friendship is the strangest thing

if you keep it to yourself, no reward will bring
but you gave it away, you gave it to me
and from now on great friends we'll be
Come with me where the fire burns bright,
We can even see better by the candle's light.
And we'll find moremeaning in a campfire's glod,
Than we've ever found in a year or so.
We made a promise to always keep.
And we say "Softley Falls" before we sleep.
We are Girl Scouts together and when we're gone,
We'll still be trying and singing this song.
Chorus

12) On My Honor
On my honor, I will try.
There's a duty to be done and I say aye.
There's a reason to be here for a reason above.
My honor is to try and my duty is to love.
People don't need to know my name.
If I've done any harm, then I'm to blame.
If I've helped someone, then I've helped me.
And I've opened up my eyes to see.
I've tucked away a song or two.
If you're feeling low, there's one for you.
If you need a friend, then I will come.
And there's many more where I come from.
Chorus

13) Take Me Out to the Scout Camp

(Tune: "Take Me Out to the Ballpark")

Take me out to the scout camp,

Take me out with my Troop,
Buy me some goodies and leathercrafts,
I don't care if I ever get back,
For it's swim, shoot, climb with the camp staff
If they're not trained it's a shame
For it's 1, 2, 3 miles you hike at the old scout camp

14) Happiness Runs

Happiness runs in a circular motion,

Love is like a little boat on the sea,

Everybody is a part of everything everywhere,
You can be happy if you let yourself be.
Happiness runs, happiness runs,
Happiness runs, happiness runs.

15) My Aunt Came Back

My aunt came back from old Japan,

She brought with her a waving fan.
My aunt came back from Holland too,
She brought with her a wooden shoe.
My aunt came back from old Algiers,
She brought with her a pair of shears.
My aunt came back from Guadeloupe,
She brought with her some Hula-Hoop.
My Aunt came back from the New York Fair,
She brought with her a rocking chair.
My aunt came back from the city zoo,
She brought with her some monkeys like you!!
