Learning From Failure
‘Through my first two years of high school I coasted through my writing classes.
Everything went well until junior year. I had a new teacher named Mrs. Drewing. She gave us
research papers that were expected to be {Q)pages long in MLA format. It was when I was doing
these papers that I realized that my writing skills were blunt and needed to be honed. This

realization came to me when even I started to think that my papers were of low quality. Since /

I'm not very fond of doing the bare minimum I started going to her every day after school to
beytér my writing skills. | had not been doing well in her class and wanted to start making better
‘marks. She would help me with my vocabulary and grammar so I could start implementing more
sophisticated words and express myself easier. This made my writing skills much better and
eventually I started to do well. After a while we started to form a special bond and this greatly

going on an adventure. Mrs. Drewing taught me everything I have ever learned and Ihave her to!
thank for making me the writer | am today. She knew exactly how to teach me. Since I liked Ldy
math, she broke writing and grammar down into an equation that made me understand the
