This Weeks Focus: Review

What has been happening in our classrooms?

Last Friday (Oct 30th), K to K3 children enjoyed the Character Day
parade showing off their costume on the catwalk and seeing others
dressed up. Each one of them had their own way of expressing
themselves and all were unique!
In the afternoon, we had our first Early Years (EY) assembly in the
hall, focusing on one of the Learner Profiles, Caring. Prior to the
assembly, we talked about what assembly is and what caring means
to us. The EY team (K-K3) plans to have an assembly every month.
This is a good way to get the children familiar with the IB Learner
Profile and to help them make a connection with their personal
experiences. We will focus on a different Learner Profile each month
and you are encouraged to use these words to praise your child when
you see him/her exhibiting these attributes.

Language:
Song of the week: Review all the autumn
songs learned
Vocabulary: Review all the vocab
Colour of the week: Brown (also review
other autumn colours)
Math: Counting leaves, apples, pumpkins,
nuts and etc.
P.E.: Ball skills
Music: Autumn songs/ Practice for EY
performance
Putonghua: Learn words: Wind, autumn,
leaf, red, yellow, orange, green and game to
recognize orange and yellow and green
items in PTH

Also last week, we had fun with leaves. We piled up the leaves,
threw them up into the air, raked them up, and jumped in. It was
indeed a great way to experience autumn in Guangzhou! This week
we will continue with our inquiry into autumn and especially look at
brown colour.

Please remember to send your childs hat back to school

on Mondays after a wash at home.

P. E. uniform is mandatory for P.E. lessons.
