DATA STORES
A data store is a repository for persistently storing
collections of data, such as a database, a file system
or a directory.
Stored data can be of any type that can be rendered
indigitalformat and placed in electronic media.

Digital files (text, image, video, audio, etc.)


File systems
Databases
Directory services
Email storage systems

Data flow elements are grouped together to form a structural


record. A data store is created for each unique structural record.

A data dictionary (also called system catalog) is a collection
of descriptions of the data objects or items in a data model
for the benefit of users who need to refer to them.
It is where the systems analyst goes to define or look up
information about entities, attributes and relationships on the
ERD (Entity Relationship Design).
