including: 4 (40%) in the age range of 18-25, 2 (20%) in the age range of 26-34, 2 (20%) in the

Findings
The survey results indicated that the respondents come from a wide variety of ages.
Results of the survey varied. As far as activity level, 60% reported they are moderately active,
30% reported lightly active and 10% highly active. Although 60% reported they are moderately
active, 40% of respondents stated they only exercise less than 3 days a week. 80% of respondents
indicated they do not have a workout buddy, which is known to increase motivation for people
being active. The top activities completed for exercise are: walking (100%), aerobics/pilates
(60%), and jogging/running (50%). I was surprised to see that more respondents participate in

yoga (40%) than bicycling (30%), but this could be due to the fact that 90% of the respondents
are female; and yoga is one of the top exercise activities for females. 50% of respondents (5)
indicated they have a gym membership, but only 2 out of the 5 indicated they use their
membership more than 2-3 times a month. Only 20% of respondents indicated they get between
8-10 hours of sleep nightly, and only 1 respondent indicated that they would like to get more
sleep.

As far as eating habits, the top foods eaten daily were: fresh fruit (60%) and vegetables
(50%). However, in contrast 40% of respondents indicated they eat fast food 2-3 times a week.
40% of respondents indicated they drink the recommended 6-8 glasses of 8 oz. water a day.

All of the respondents surveyed indicated they work either at least 20-40 hours per week
(40%), or 40+ hours per week (60%). Work obligations can often hinder time for exercise, so it is

good to see that the majority of respondents try to fit in time to eat right and exercise. This could
also be an indicator for why 40% eat fast food 2-3 times a week. When respondents were asked
what is one thing they would do to improve their lifestyle, there were a variety of answers
including: exercise more often (30%), eat better/cook more often (30%), and have more me
time (30%).

Overall, the survey indicated that the respondents come from a wide variety of ages and
activity levels. The survey indicated that the respondents have many time obligations and make
an effort to exercise and eat right. Out of all the respondents, 90% indicated the have not suffered
from any health-related issues in the past 12 months. The survey results indicate that the survey
sample make an effort to try and lead a healthy lifestyle.
