‘The Rt. Hon. the Lord Feldman of Elstree, Conservative Campaign Headquarters, 4 Matthew Parker Street, LONDON, ‘SW1H 9HO. 2nd November 2015. Dear Lord Feldman, Yet again the Conservative party demonstrates its crass handling of the Mark Clarke affair, with its intention to introduce Emma Pidding into the House of Lords this coming Tuesday. ‘As you are no doubt aware, Ms Pidding’s name has cropped up on numerous occasions as a close confidant of Mark Clarke, and as a deputy chairman of the Conservative party board, Is in a position to influence the ‘outcome of your own internal investigation. Young activists are also quietly claiming that she is the source of leaked information to Clarke, allegedly revealing the identities of those who had raised complaints about his activities during RoadTrip 2015; in one instance the name of the complainant was leaked within 1 hour of the complaint being made to CCHQ. AAs investigations continue towards civil and criminal proceedings, Pidding will almost certainly be required to give evidence of her alleged association with Clarke and her possible knowledge of his activities. With this in mind, It appears inappropriate at this time for her to be considered for a seat in the House of Lords, whilst these extremely serious allegations against Clarke are being investigated; and may once again bring the process of ennoblement into disrepute. Itis also extremely insensitive, as this week would have seen the 22™ birthday of Elliott. Not much of a birthday gift from the Conservative party that he spent years of voluntary time and money supporting. Yours faithfully, Ray Johnson.
