Seventh Season
W-L Record 149-141-1

Izaryk returns for his seventh season at the helm of the Sanford Mainers entering the
2015 campaign. The former Sanford Mainer and UMaine product led the Moose to the
NECBL playoffs in all six of his previous seasons. He led the team to the NECBL
Championship last season after posting the teams best record throughout his tenure with
a 24-18 mark. However, the Mainers fell short to the New Port Gulls losing the bestof-three series 2-0 in quest of the Fay Vincent Sr. Cup. Izaryk also has sent 26 league
all-stars during his time with Sanford.
Prior to the Mainers, Izaryk served as a pitching coach and catching instructor for the
University of Maine. He also spent a summer with a familiar foe in the Keene Swamp
Bats as an Assistant Coach in the summer of 2006. As a player for the Black Bears in
his collegiate days with UMaine, Izaryk compiled a solid playing career posting a .318
Mainers Under Izaryk
average with over 207 hits, 123 RBI and 134 runs scored. To add to his ledger, he was

HAPPY CENTENNIAL GOODALL PARK

Goodall Park is filled with historical significance not only in the state of Maine, or in
the NECBL, but also in Major League Baseball as well. Built in 1915, and rebuilt in
1997 after a fire destroyed the wooden grandstand, the stadium is celebrating its 100th
anniversary this season. Along with the anniversary, the Sanford Mainers will be hosting this years NECBL All-Star game later this summer at the historic Goodall Park.

Names such as Freddy Parent, Babe Ruth, and George Sisler are in the top echelon when it comes to players who showcased their talents on the diamond. Parent,
known for being the first Red Sox shortstop (formerly known as the Americans) from
1901-1907 is the most successful player to come out of the Sanford area.

One of the most iconic figures in all of sports, Ruth and the Boston Red Sox
battled against the Sanford Professionals in a game in 1919. Ruth and company were
down 3-1 when the Great Bambino clobbered a go-ahead three-run home run in what
would be his final home run in his final game as a Red Sox before being traded to the
New York Yankees. Along with those three, Mainers such as Kevin Slowey, Jason
Motte and Andy Sonnanstine all spent their summers here in Sanford before making it
to the bigs. Goodall Park has a 1,000 seating capacity and its dimension are 321 feet down the left field foul pole, 283 feet
down the right field foul pole, 404 feet to straight away center field and 378 feet and 384 feet in the left-center and right-center
gaps, respectively. You can see Broose D Moose and Boomer in the stadium cheering on the Mainers and getting the crowd
into the game this summer as the Mainers get ready for another exciting season of baseball.
