PROBLEM URBAN AREA

Nowadays, there are a large number of urbanization problems in the world. The main
problems in cities are caused by car habits, poverty, overcrowded, pollution and
unemployment. Although there are many methods to address those issues, there are still
problems that cannot be completely solved, such as over-population and the cost of public
transportation. Therefore, the problems of urbanization can be met quite a lot of policies of
sustainable development.
First of all, peoples reliance on cars for transportation is one of the problems in
urbanization. More and more people moved from rural to urban areas in order to earn more
money and improve their quality of life. Many people have their own private cars, which
have caused traffic jams on the highway, thus exhaust emissions also pollute the environment.
A policy of sustainable development can solve the car habit problem. The complete system,
called the Metro (Thisdell 123), is a new network project of underground transportation with
new routes in Los Angeles, California. Because of a large number of populations, current
transport planning is difficult. So the Railway Company persuaded the United States to open
up Metro link in order to avoid this freeway traffic. It is also a solution to the transportation
problems in urban areas.
In conclusion, urbanization means city develop at a high speed. Due to the
development, there are some problems that come up at the same time, such as harmful car
habits, over population, poverty, housing, pollution and unemployment. The researchers
suggested five solutions which are to build a metro, encourage countries to aid other
countries, disperse population, enforce laws on pollutions, and innovation in employment.
These five solutions may become the major trend in the future, and they may reduce the
problems which are brought by urbanization. However, the over-population and metro costs
are still two serious issues which researchers need to figure out. In order to help urban areas
develop sustainably, people should contribute their personal effort. Once people realize their
private duty to the urban areas, peoples good will may make the urbanization become better
and better.
