CHAPEL MESSAGE - CREATION DAY ONE AND TWO

Genesis 1:1-8, light/darkness, sky
~Bible memory verse: Genesis 1:31a: God saw all that he had
made, and it was very good (NIV)
~Open chapel with staff introductions, what we are going to do
this week, and the rules that should be followed.
~Have the kids stand up for songs. After three or four songs, have
them sit back down and begin the memory verse and Bible
lesson.
~ Lesson: read: Genesis 1:1-8 in a kids story Bible for easier
comprehension
~ Isnt it amazing that God could create things by speaking? Can
you do that? Do you know anyone who can do that? I dont think
that I could create something just by talking. Let me try. (speaks
something and pretends to be surprised when nothing happens).
God is so powerful!
~Why do you think God wanted to create a world? He took six
days to create the entire world. He could have just yelled out a
bunch of words and created everything in a few minutes. Instead,
he took an entire day to create, and also made sure to spend time
admiring his creation. Imagine what would have happened if God
had been careless and sloppy when he created. A duck could

have had wool like a sheep or humans could have had scales like
a snake!
~A lesson we can learn from this: When you do schoolwork,
chores, or even when you play, do everything carefully and

thoroughly.
~Lets review: what was the very first thing God created on day
one? What about day two?
~Lets say the memory verse together again: Genesis 1:31a

CHAPEL MESSAGE - CREATION DAY THREE

Genesis 1:11-13, plants and vegetation
~Bible memory verse: Genesis 1:31a: God saw all that he had
made, and it was very good (NIV)
~Open chapel with a review of day camp rules.
~Have the kids stand up for songs. After three or four songs, have
them sit back down and begin the memory verse and Bible
lesson.
~Lesson: read: Genesis 1:11-13 in the childrens Bible.
~On this day, God decided to create trees, grass, plants, flowers,
and all kinds of vegetation. Imagine what it would be like if we did
not have beautiful flowers to pick or trees to climb. The world
would look like a giant desert!
~Plants help to keep the air clean. They absorb our bad air and
produce clean oxygen for us to breathe. Isnt God smart?
~Plants also benefit animals. Little bugs scurry around in the
grass and dirt, and birds and other animals live in the trees and
bushes. Bees collect honey from flowers.

~God created the plants and flowers for so many reasons. It is our
job to help keep the environment clean and healthy. Lets think of
some ways that we can protect the environment.
~We can pick up trash. We can pick flowers in small amounts
so that others can enjoy looking at them. We can admire trees
and leaves, but we should not pull the bark or leaves off of the
trees. We can walk on the sidewalks instead of walking over
peoples grass.

~ A lesson we can learn from this: We are in charge of keeping

the environment clean and safe.
~ Lets review: What did God create on day three?
~Lets say the memory verse together again: Genesis 1:31a

CHAPEL MESSAGE - CREATION DAY FOUR AND FIVE

Genesis 1:14-23, sun, moon, and stars, water animals and
birds

~Bible memory verse: Genesis 1:31a: God saw all that he had
made, and it was very good (NIV)
~Open chapel with a review of day camp rules.
~Have the kids stand up for songs. After three or four songs, have
them sit back down and begin the memory verse and Bible
lesson.
~Lesson: read: Genesis 1:14-23 in the childrens Bible.
~On day four, God created the sun, moon, and stars. Who likes to
go outside and look at the stars and find planets and galaxies?
Have you ever found any galaxies/ Which ones?
~Imagine what it would be like if the sun shone all day long and
there was no moon or stars. Wouldn't our world be different?
~God used his creativity when he created solar and lunar
eclipses.
~ On day five, God created the water animals and birds. Can
anyone give me an example of a bird or water animal?

~ God was very smart to create the sky, land, and water before
he created the birds and fish. If he hadn't, the fish and birds would
have had nowhere to go!
~God does everything with purpose. (explain definition of
"purpose")
~ A lesson we can learn from this: God used his creativity to
begin a wonderful world. We also are made with a creative mind.
W should not waste what God has given us. Let's also remember

to do everything with purpose.

~Lets review: What did God create on day four and five?
~Lets say the memory verse together again: Genesis 1:31a

BREAKOUT SESSION - QUESTIONS AND CHALK DRAWINGS

~Let's look up at the sky. What do you see? The clouds all
have different shapes, sizes, and colors. God made each
cloud unique. Even the sky changes colors and has
different patterns.
~Begin drawing your picture of Day One and Day Two.
Make sure that you are being careful and thoughtful while
you draw. Don't be sloppy or rush through it.

~ Lets review the memory verse: Genesis 1:31a: God

saw all that he had made, and it was very good (NIV).
~Do you think that God had fun while he was creating?
~God set an example for us to follow when he created
the world. What do you think that example was?

~Take away: In everything that you do, be thoughtful and

careful. Use your imagination and creativity.
