Student Expectations:
a.

Attend class consistently. New information the current lesson is presented daily.
The information is based on the instruction given the day before. Learning is
sequential - which means, if you miss a class, it will be much more difficult to
succeed. If you miss a class, plan to come in during lab hours to make-up your
missed work.

b.

It is very important to come to class on time. I reserve the first few minutes of
each class for lessons or special instructions on the current project. If you arrive
late you will distract other students. Tardy students are assigned extra duties
during clean-up time. On third tardy your parents will receive a call, as well as
any consequences as assigned by the school.

c.

I am responsible for you during the class period. Please ask me for permission
when you would like to leave the classroom for any reason. There is a sign out
sheet on the clip-board by the door. If you have not signed out, or leave without
the hall pass, you will no longer be allowed to leave class.

d.

During lectures, you are expected to give your undivided attention and listen
carefully to the information presented. It is tempting to begin creating, but you
will miss information and cause you classmates to miss it as well.

e.

The class is large. Cleaning up after your self is very important! It is only
equitable that you clean-up your own mess, but by also taking care of the
supplies and tools you save money that will be used to buy a variety of materials
for you to use.

f. All projects are expected on the due date. Late work will be accepted relative to the
number of days of excused absences. If you are absent due to illness or any other
school verified reason, you have the same number of days you were gone to turn
in the work for grading at full value (this work is to be done during lab time not
during class). However, make-up days are not allowed for unexcused absences
or truancies. Turning a project in on time will enable you to re-work it for a
better grade, until the end of the six week grading period.

g.

There is suggested supply contribution of $20.00. The money covers all basic
tools and materials needed for the class. With out this we can only barely afford
paper and pencils. If you want to contribute more it will be used for those
students who are having financial difficulties.
I request that the money come in the first week so that I may purchase all the
things that we need for the semester. If it is not possible to have it in by then, or
you are unable due to financial difficulties to bring it at all, please come and talk
to me.
