VITERBI MASTERS CAREER SUCCESS COURSE

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OPT-OUT CONTRACT
Section 1: To be completed by the student
I would like to opt-out of the Viterbi Masters Career Success Course. All elements of this course
including the online modules as well as the live USC Viterbi: A Community of Honor workshop are a
requirement for all international Viterbi Masters students wishing to complete Curricular Practical
Training (CPT).
By signing this document, I understand the following (please initial each statement to indicate your
understanding):
_____ By opting-out of the Viterbi Masters Career Success Course, I am not eligible for Curricular
Practical Training (CPT) while pursuing my Masters degree at USC Viterbi.
_____ I am not eligible to take a make-up session of USC Viterbi: A Community of Honor or online
modules to become eligible for CPT while pursuing my Masters degree. Opting-out of this
course is a final decision and the GAPP office is not able to reverse it.
_____ Opting-out of CPT does not impact my eligibility for Optional Practical Training (OPT) after
graduation.
_____ I may not participate in On Campus Recruiting for internships because I am not eligible for a paid
internships while pursuing my Masters degree.
_____ I may not attend Viterbi Career Fairs or USC-wide Career Fairs during my first year at USC Viterbi
as I am not eligible for a paid internship while pursuing my Masters degree.
_____ If an employer contacts me about an internship, I must inform them that I am not eligible for
CPT.
