Judging the State Social Studies Fair at the Civic Center

Summarize the key points you learned from this Professional Development
experience.
I learned that these students put even more work into finalizing their projects
than they had when they were at the local social studies fair. I got to see
some of the project I judged in the local social studies fair along with new
projects from other districts. I loved how these students took so much pride in
their projects. I learned that just because a student is young, does not mean
they cannot have a great project. These students put their hearts and souls
into their work and it showed.

Discuss how these key points connect to your content area.

Being a social studies major, this was perfect for me.
I got to see how the students used the different history/social studies topics
and made them their own.

Share how you might use this new information in your future classroom.
I will use what I saw in these projects to help my future students with their
projects.
Knowing what the judges are looking for, I will guide my students to do their
best.
