NGU Education
Department
North Greenville has a variety of majors,
including secondary, elementary, and early
childhood education for those that want to pursue
a career in teaching. As a secondary education
major, a student would be planning to teach in a
high school setting, while elementary education
majors would be teaching in a second through
sixth grade classroom, and early childhood
teaching Kindergarten to third.

Elementary Education

NGU Athletic Bands

North Greenville is represented by their very own,
the Crusader Marching Band. Each fall, the band
practices and performs in multiple parades, half
time shows for home games, and exhibitions.
Participation in this group comes with a
scholarship, starting out at $600 per year and
increasing the longer you continue with it.

The Fine Arts Program

North Greenville hosts a variety of ways to get
involved in fine arts. As a student, you can join
many ensembles including:

Orchestra

Choir

Joyful Sound

Concert Band

Gospel Choir

To graduate with a degree in elementary

education, students are required to complete a
variety of courses, field placement, and pass the
Praxis Core and Praxis II Exam.
If you decide to major in Elementary Education at
NGU, but also want to be certified to teach
Kindergarten through third grade, we offer an
add-on. With this, you must take two to three
extra courses.
For more information about majoring in Elementary Education please contact Mrs. Michele
Schaich at michele.schaich@ngu.edu or (864)
663-0245.
