The CDC a government agency, talks about what type 2 diabetes is. It talks about the
statistics and ratios of how many Americans will become diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
It also gives many causes that leads to type two diabetes such as obesity. This website
mainly talks about how to prevent diabetes, and how you can control type two diabetes
with diet and exercise. I believe that this source is very creditable due to the fact that is
from a government agency. This source provides very important information on
prevention and control.

In this case study, by Kevin Hwang he talks about the uncontrolled type 2 diabetes
patients vs. controlled type 2 diabetes patients. This case is about a 45 year woman and
how her uncontrolled diabetes caused many health problems, and complications. Her type
two diabetes has affected her vision, her kidneys, and her blood pressure. Kevin then
talks about how after treatment and controlling the diabetes how all of her symptoms
started to reverse itself. This article is very creditable because the University of California
is well credited school, and can provide examples in my essay about the side effects of
uncontrolled diabetes.

In Brenda Abrahams interview by Doctor Stan Rogers, Brenda gets question about a
recently weight reduction by surgery and how it helped her type 2 diabetes. Since Brenda
had surgery her A1C levels have dropped. However, even though Brenda has lost the
weight, she is still a type 2 diabetic and must change her lifestyles. Dr. Rogers ask Brenda
about The recent life changes made, and how they positively impacted her type 2
diabetes. This interview is important and creditable because it shows real life results.

different type of medications and treatments for type 2 diabetes. In addition, he describes
the how each medicine work, along with its side effects. He also refers to which treatment
is most prescribed and recommended by doctors. This is a creditable source because it a
published document. It is relevant to my essay because it shows the types of treatment for
type 2 diabetes.

In Virginia Burroughs newspaper article, she writes about how a group of women who
were diagnosed as pre-diabetic joined together for moral support to prevent becoming
diabetics. The women joined the Dayton Y program to help each other over come the
possible disease by receiving educational information, dieting and exercise. This article
shows the ways in which people can join together and prevent becoming diabetic.

In Pete Couste, short documentary, there were five people who had type 2 diabetes who
described how their lives changed. Many of the people in this film had uncontrolled type
two diabetes. They talked about how difficult and annoying it was to managing checking
the blood glucose levels, and how they always would forget to take their medicine. Each
Individual ended up having life traumatic events and shared their story of life with type 2
diabetes. This video is very creditable, and useful to my essay because it shows the
effects on uncontrolled type two diabetes.

In Gretchen Beckers book, she talks about what each newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic
should know. She goes into a walk-through of how each person diagnosed should know
the education and background of what diabetes actually is. She talks about the steps after
being diagnosed, such as proper levels of blood glucose, how to use your blood glucose
monitor, the effects of not taking any prescribe medications.
