ABOUT THE AUTHOR Dr MN Rao is presently an Emeritus Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. After obtaining his Ph D in Environmental Engineering, Dr Rao spent 2 years in Auckland University,New Zealand as a post doctoral fellow.He taught at University of Roorkee and Regional Engineering College, Durgapur till 1979 and took up research and consultancy in Environmental Engineering for 2 years.He joined Technical Teachers’ Training Institute(Govt of India) and worked as Professor-in-Charge at Bangalore and later as Principal at Chennai .He is an active member of several professional bodies and served as an expert member of several international committees. He published over 250 technical papers in Indian and International Journals and coauthored 20 books and manuals.He is a recepient of 4 gold medals and 20 awards for his valuable contributions in the field of Environmental Engineering Education and Training. He is a Consultant to UN Organisations, WHO, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, DANIDA, CIDA ete and chaired over 30 International Conferences held in various parts of the world.
