SUMMATIVE EVALUATION

I. Small Group Evaluation

The purpose of the evaluation session was conducted to verify that the Instructional solution is
functioning appropriately and that the instructional goal is met.

II. Evaluation Session Profile

Five migrant teachers volunteered to participate in the field trial. Two female teachers and three male
teachers participated. Four of the participants are housed within the Migrant department
classroom/offices area while one participant is located in their own classroom. All of the participants
have computer skills in using required school programs. One of the three male participants claimed to of
created a wiki spaces approximately four years ago but did not recall how to create one while the other
two participants had never created one. One of female participants had never created a wiki space before
while the other participant had created a space recently with assistance but insisted on participating in this
field test because she wanted to create one without any help provided to her.

III. Evaluation Session Location

The training trial took place at a location of the participants choosing but most completed their training in
the MEO Computer lab room at Donna High School during the work day.

IV. Evaluation Session Materials

The participants were only provided with the link to the training site and given a hard copy of a LikertScale questionnaire to be completed after the training. Also, the results of the module assessment and
submission of the URL to their e-portfolio wiki space were analyzed and used to determine the
effectiveness of the training site and the completeness of the e-portfolio was also assessed.

V. Evaluation Results
The results of the Likert-Scale survey revealed that the trainees approved of the aesthetics of the site.
They were able to start without difficulty. The videos were easy to follow although one trainee
commented that the video quizzes were annoying since it did not allow him to skip them if he chose to.

The results of the module assessments were as follows:

The completeness of the e-portfolio wiki spaces was determined by using a rubric which is located on the
following page. Three of the participants scored a 100 while 2 scored a 90.

VI. Reaction to Evaluation Results

All participants were able to complete the training and submit a URL address to their e-portfolio wiki
space. They were also able to pass each of the module assessments. The lowest score was a 60% rating
for question 2 on module 2. I was not surprised that question two on module two would cause a problem.
The wording for two of the choices is very similar.
VII. Action Response and Revisions
The training was very straight forward and the repetitive pattern was easy to follow. Improvement to the
module 2 question 2 wording will be made prior to live training session.
