Climate Change: Its Effects on Earth

I believe that Climate Change is real and it effects Earth in a variety of ways. This
includes living organisms like humans, plants, and animals. We all benefit from living on Earth.
Trees and plants are able to convert Carbon Dioxide into Oxygen which most living organisms
breathe. The atmosphere keeps the Earth at a livable temperature so that we are not too hot or too
cold. Lakes, Rivers, Ponds, and the Ocean provide us with water. Studies over the years have
proven that Climate Change is real, and it is harming Earth and everything living on it.
One of the main causes of climate change are people. The burning of fossil fuels, like
coal, oil, and natural gases release carbon dioxide up into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is a
greenhouse gas. This gas contributes to the greenhouse effect, which are types of gases that get
trapped in the atmosphere and keep the warmth from the sun inside the atmosphere. This is a
problem because it will eventually make it harder for us to live on Earth because of the Earth
being too warm (Climate change causes: A blanket around the Earth).
An effect climate change has on Earth is the impending change in weather. As the
temperature rises from greenhouse effects, the oceans are getting warmer. Hurricanes and
tropical storms are formed over the ocean, and gain their power from warm water. The rising
temperature of the ocean will the increase the power of these hurricanes and tropical storms. The

winds will have more force, increasing the damage output when it reaches land, and putting more
people in danger, including plants, and animals (The Nature Conservancy).
Natural events have also been a factor in climate change. Earths orbit naturally changes
the weather in temperature. This also includes the change in seasons that we experience, and
what area of the world you live in. The changes of the temperature of the Sun can make the Earth
temperature warmer, or cooler. Other changes in the past like the movement of continents have
had different effects on the landscapes. (10 Things You Should Know About Climate Change)
Lastly, the agriculture around the world will be effected. Farmers around the world watch
the weather, temperature, and seasons to know exactly when is the best time to grow crops and
the best time to harvest them. Climate change will have a big effect on everyone, because we get
most of our foods from farmers. The changes in weather and temperature will make it harder for
farmers to grow crops at the right time. The greenhouse effects will kill crops faster because it is
warmer. The air will be more polluted from the smoke of wild fires as the surface of Earth
becomes drier. There will be an even bigger struggle to keep their crops alive as the crops
become riddled with diseases and insects (Climate change impacts)
As you can see, climate change has a variety of effect on Earth. It does not only effect the
Earth, but everything that is on it. It effects plants, animals, the weather, agriculture, temperature,
and the ocean. The rising temperature will increase the risk of everyones lives. There are
alternatives that can help prevent the increase in climate change. Riding your bike to work, a
friends house, or going to the movies will prevent the use of gas emissions from your car. You
can also look into getting fully electric vehicles, as they use no gas at all so they do not emit any
harmful chemicals into the air. Climate change is a real problem and we need to take it more
seriously than before.
