Austoker, Joan. Diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer in Primary Care. BMJ: British Medical
Journal 339.7721 (2009): 583584. Web...
Diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer in Primary Care is an article from bmj.com. This article
describes what ovarian cancer is and states the percentages of women affected by it. I believe
this article is scholarly, because the information stated in the article is based on a case-control
study and several patients medical records. Additionally, we will be using this source in our
research paper. It is credible and it provides helpful information about the history of ovarian
cancer.

H.R. H.B 2813, Texas State Capitol 4 (2015) (enacted). Print. Author Ken King
This is a portable document format file of House Bill 2813. It includes the components of the
bill and what the new insurance plan will cover relating to ovarian cancer. The PDF file is
scholarly and comes directly from the Texas Legislature. We will be using this source in our
paper which will be helpful when writing section two of our research assignment.

King, Ken. Interview. Fort, Worth, 15 October. 2015. Phone.

This source is an over the phone interview with the author of our bill, Ken King. During the
interview, King was asked about the purpose behind House Bill 2813, if insurance rates would
increase, how informed the male population was advocating ovarian cancer, and how woman can
obtain the prevention test for ovarian cancer. Ken King is one of our Republican State
Representatives, house district eighty-eight to be exact. I believe King is an expert in his field.
He serves for the house administration, public education, and environmental committees and is
also a member of numerous house caucuses. King is not only a business owner but is the
President of Black Gold Pump and Supply Inc. in Canada all according to the Texas Tribune
organization website. With this being said, Ken King is a main source, which will be useful in
our research. We have the information first hand from the author of the bill. I plan to use this
information in section five, simply because if woman are aware that insurance rates will not go
up, they will feel more comfortable getting a prevention test. I believe the most helpful thing that
the government can do, is help spread the word on prevention of ovarian cancer.

Menu." National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC). N.P., n.d. Web. 09 November 2015.0
This scholarly website has excellent information. This website is not only perfect for someone
who might have ovarian cancer but also for people wanting to do research on ovarian cancer. The
medical information tab on this site gives great information about ovarian cancer. It mentions
symptoms that may appear with having ovarian cancer. This site also explains the different types
and stages of ovarian cancer that there is. Not to mention, this website gives citizens information
on ways to live with ovarian cancer. In fact, this site for National Ovarian Cancer Coalition,
shows a section for news and events pertaining to ovarian cancer. Let alone, NOCC gives people
news about ovarian cancer that is happening all over the United States.

Morrison, Patrick J., S. V. Hodgson, and Neva E. Haites. Familial Breast and Ovarian Cancer:
Genetics, Screening, and Management. Cambridge, UK: Cambridge University Press,
2002. eBook Collection (EBSCOhost). Web. 10 November. 2015.
This is a scholarly book with detailed information in regards to ovarian cancer. Familial Breast
and Ovarian Cancer talks about the up-to-date management, diagnoses, prevention, and
screening of patients with ovarian cancer as well as breast and colon cancer. I believe that the
authors of this book are definitely experts in their field. Author Neva Haites studied biochemistry
at the University of Queensland and obtain her medical degree and training at Aberdeen. Haites
is now a professor of medical genetics in the department of medicine and therapeutics, as well as
molecular and cell biology. Additionally, Haites is the head of service for the medical genetics at
Aberdeen Royal Hospital and is an honorary consultant for clinical geneticist. Therefore, for
these reasons, according to the Aberdeen University website, I truly believe Neva Haites is an
expert. On another note, I think without a doubt that this book would be more than useful for our
research. Familial Breast and Ovarian Cancer. has information that will be extremely helpful
in our research paper, because people are not aware of most of the information dealing with the
genetic aspects of this terrible disease. I am planning to use information from this book
particularly on section five. I feel that if the government makes all woman get a genetic test for
ovarian cancer, it will not only prevent ovarian cancer but it can also help create new treatment
options.

"Ovarian Cancer National Alliance | We Work to save Women's Lives." Ovarian Cancer
National Alliance. N.P., n.d. Web. 09 November. 2015.
This scholarly website gives great information. This website has it all. Ovarian Cancer National
Alliance site gives information on medical insurance with someone who has ovarian cancer.

Additionally, the OCNA site has information on how to become an advocate for ovarian cancer.
Furthermore, OCNA gives great educational information on ovarian cancer. Not only is this
website great for someone who has been diagnosed with this cancer but it is also a great
opportunity for people to show support to someone that has already been diagnosed with this
horrible disease. One can truly say this website is helpful to many individuals in numerous ways.
