presented a challan against a firm and a goods carrier for misusing CST and GST numbers, causing a loss of Rs 12.0 crore to the State. A CB spokesman said a charge sheet against the accused has been presented before the court of Passenger Tax.

production of fake documents for obtaining registration from the Sales Tax Department and subsequent misuse of CST/GST numbers for fraudulent import of goods from outside state in order to evade tax.

During investigation it was found that one
Reyaz Ahmed Lone had applied before the
Sales Tax authorities for registration of firm namely HANAAN TRADERS, for which fake documents were submitted to the authorities. The fake company in league with the Aakash Goods Carrier imported goods worth Rs 12.0 crore from outside the state by using fraudulently obtaining CST/GST numbers.

He said the accused has wrongfully
caused a loss to the state exchequer
to the tune of lakhs of rupees which could have been generated as revenue in the form of sales tax against these imports.
