Fitness-for-Purpose (FFP) Assessment

Following in-line inspection of a pipeline, the objective of a


Fitness-For-Purpose (FFP) Assessment is to quickly assess
the results of the inspection and to identify and prioritize
any features which may be an immediate threat to the
integrity of the pipeline for remedial action.
Key objectives
The aim of the FFP Assessment is to assess the features
reported by the inspection in terms of their immediate
integrity. The FFP Assessment will provide a written report
on the pipeline condition and advise on and justify the need
for a further detailed FFP and Future Integrity Planning and/
or other studies to ensure the future integrity of the pipeline.

QA Assessment of input data
Selection of appropriate assessment code
Detailed Feature Assessment
Assessment of the immediate integrity of the pipeline
Prioritization of immediate remedial actions and/or repairs
Advise of the need for any additional detailed
assessments/studies
