Clinical was a little more challenging for me this week. I had a very ill patient with multiple problems and I
learned a lot about heparin and afib. I was able to prioritize my care and make a plan for the day. I was also in
the CCU which was also a new experience for me. I really enjoyed following my nurse who explained everything
she was doing. She taught me a little more about ventilators, which we learned in third term, and it put a lot of
the pieces together. I also got to go to COT emergencies and see the steps that the nurse follows for that. My
goal for next week would be to continue to get as much experience in not only nursing but other fields to see
how everyone works together.

Jill had a strong week clinically. She had a patient with a very complex medical history that presented
with one complaint and was diagnosed with multiple problems. Jill did strong work with her critical
thinking and applying her knowledge of medications and assessment to her care.
I am glad that Jill was able to have a well rounded experience in the CCU. This is a great way to be
exposed to many aspects of nursing.
I look forward to working more at critical thinking and additional medication administration.
