Program Curriculum
Vision Statement To educate all students by challenging them to better themselves through the
variety of opportunities given from a musical experience. In concordance with the school district's
vision statement that all students will be challenged in a variety of educational ways, we will strive to
achieve growth and excellence through appropriately designed challenges.
Mission Statement To improve student musicians ability to read music, perform an instrument at a
high level, and broaden their understanding and appreciation of musical art. In concordance with the
school district's mission statement that all students will be tasked with increased knowledge of each
subject and increasing mastery of it's principles, we will work to build fundamentally strong musicians.
Goal Statement To better society through performance and appreciation of music. In concordance
with the school district's mission statement that we strive to produce well rounded, educated adults, we
will strive to help mold our students in positive ways through the art of music. We believe that music is
a universal art that connects all peoples, regardless of age, religion and race. We believe that music is
fundamentally important to the growth as a cultured, expressive, and understanding individual.
Behavior Expectations:
Regardless of grade or age, each student is expected to demonstrate self control and ability to focus.
With large ensembles it is impossible to give each student individualized attention the entire rehearsal
time, as such there will be times where it is permitted to attentively relax, but will be expected to be
mentally ready. Any student with special needs' parents should contact me in advance so we can
discuss accommodations that need to be made.
