Marrone’s Maternal Tree Climb
‘was never one to have a big family. My family has always been small and tightknit. My
current family lives in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. I am Nicholas Marrone. Iam currently
18 years old and attend college at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My plan ducing
college is to become a computer engineer. I was born in Middletown, New Jersey. In middle
school I played every sport a guy was allowed to play. The sports I participated in were track,
cross-country, baseball, and basketball. During my career in high school I was a part of the
rowing team. Now, in college, I am focused on my work. [also have a sister named Julia. Julia is
currently/17 and still lives in New Jersey. She was also born in Middletown, New Jersey and
attends a high school called Red Bank Catholic where she is a junior. In middle school she
participated in sports such as basketball, track, and cross-country. In high school she now
participates in track and cross-country.
My parents’ names are Thomas Marrone and Cindy Marrone. My father, Thomas
Marrone, is currently 54 years old and my mother is(56 years old. My father was bor in and
grew up in Middletown, New Jersey. For middle school, he went to St. Mary’s and then Mater
Dei for high school. ‘Then for college, he went to Brookdale Community College and Brick
Computer Science Institute. My father’s first real job was working for Digital Equipment
Corporation where he worked as a field service engineer. Then he progressed to K Hovnanianwhere he worked as a project manager building and designing homes. Finally, his current job is
‘working as a power and space engineer for Verizon Wireless. My mother was born in Jersey City
and grew up in Union City. For her education she went to middle school and high school at St.
Michaels. Then for college she attended Mont Clair State University and later attended Jersey
City State University. From college she worked as a social worker for the state of New Jersey for
as ‘years specializing in child adoption and also child abuse. She now works for Holt Adoption
Agency where she is still a social worker.
Cindy Marrone’s parents are Joseph Canova and Lucy Canova. Joseph Canova was born
in Manhattan, New York, June 9, 1931. He was bom to Italian parents that immigrated from
Pettingo, Italy to the United States through Blis Island. At age 19, Joseph was drafted into the
Korean War where he served for 3,years as a Marine. After the war, my grandfather took a job as
a petrochemical engineer for the Dow chemical company. He helped to design and build
chemical plants and smokestacks?Joseph Canova/tinfortunately died March 2, 2009 in Union
City, New Jersey. As for my grandmother, Lucy Canova, she was born May 31, 1935 in
Manhattan, New York. She worked as a housewife until my mother and her brother finished
school. After they finished school, Lucy became an office manager for her son who is a

Lucy Canova’s parents were Rocco Dattolico and Rose Mattaice. These are my great
‘grandparents on my mother’s side. Rocco Dattolico was born December 16, 1896 in the town of
Binetto in the province of Bari, Italy. Rocco immigrated from Binetto, Italy to Manhattan at the
age of I 1)by himself. For a job in New York, he sold ice for a while. This seems strange, but
uring this time there was little to no refrigeration. Once he had gathered enough money, he
started his own business. He started a successful Italian Deli in New York. Rocco died in Augustof 1983 in New York. His wife, Rose Mattaice, was born in 1904 in Bitetto, Bari, Puglia, Italy.
She came to the United States as a young girl at the age of 9 already married to Rocco. She
wound up having 9 children and my grandmother was the 1", Roses’ parents are Dominick and.
Anna Mattiace whom were both bom in the same town she was. The date of Roses’ death is
unknown but it’s probably around the same time as her husband’s death (Canova).Work Cited
