sentence to convey emotion or show sounds.
An INTERJECTION is one of the 8 parts of
speech.

INTERJECTIONS are not grammatically related to
any other part of the sentence.
They are uncommon in formal academic writing
except in direct quotations. They most often show
emotion or excitement.

INTERJECTION ?
Usually, an exclamation point follows an
INTERJECTION. They are often set off separately
from complete sentences.
Awesome! Our team won the game!
Hey! Dont tease me.

show excitement or emotion:
Awesome! Hey! No! Yes! Wow! Yikes! Yuck!

Excellent! or Wow! Thats awesome!

Huh? I dont get it?
Show outrage:
No! You cant do that!

dont use Interjections?
They do not proofread.
They are lazy
(and probably boring).
They do not take the time
to re-read their work.
They dont care if the
reader enjoys their writing
