[Insert title, Wolfville Farmers Market Co-operative Limited]

Good morning/afternoon (TBD):

[List Ministers/special guests and titles];
Members of the media; and
Ladies and gentlemen.

I am pleased to be in Wolfville today at the Wolfville Farmers

Market (TBC).

Since opening in 1992 the Wolfville Farmers Market has served as

a place for community members to come together to support local
artisans and food producers. Today, this market hosts over 60
vendors from across the region.

Im encouraged by the innovative vision of organizations like the

Wolfville Farmers Market who contribute to community growth and
prosperity for all.

Thats because strong local businesses build strong communities

and a strong nation.

To continue to maximize our economic opportunities, we need

smart, forward-thinking organizations like the Wolfville Farmers
Market, comprised of members who understand that serving their
customers and their community is key to business growth.

Our Government is committed to helping businesses and

communities become more innovative, productive and competitive.

For instance, in November 2014, we were pleased to once again

support Wolfville in hosting Devour! The Food Film Fest.

The festival is a true example of creative marketing for both

Wolfville and the local food industry.

Our Government will continue to create jobs and make decisions

designed to improve the quality of life for all Canadians while being
fiscally responsible.

We will not borrow from future generations.

Our Government remains focused on helping hard-working

Canadian families prosper.

That is why we have committed to increasing the Universal Child

Care Benefit for children under age 6, and expanding it so that
parents of children aged 6 to 17 also receive support.

In addition, we are introducing the Family Tax Cut, which will

enable a spouse to transfer up to $50,000 of taxable income to a
spouse in a lower tax bracket as well as increasing the Child Care
Expense Deduction dollar limits by $1,000, effective for the 2015
taxation year.

Our Government has also committed to doubling the Childrens

Fitness Tax Credit and making the credit refundable, so that more
families can afford to enroll their children in sports.

Every Nova Scotia family with children will benefit from this tax
relief and benefit package.

In fact, these measures will put, on average, $1,140 back into the
pockets of Nova Scotia families with children.

Low- and middle-income families will receive two-thirds of the

overall benefits from this package.

These initiatives will help drive economic growth, ensure the

resilience of our economy and improve quality of life for
Canadians.

Speaking of quality of life, I cant think of anything that supports

quality of life better than bringing good neighbors and good food
together.

Which brings us to why weve gathered here today. Im pleased to

announce that the Government of Canada, through ACOAs
Innovative Communities Fund is investing $50,000 in the Wolfville
Farmers Market.

Thanks to this investment, the market will undergo infrastructure

improvements to improve safety, accessibility, operation and
overall aesthetics.

Specifically, the project will involve the renovation of part of the

existing facility, the purchase and installation of a sprinkler system
throughout the building, plumbing and electrical upgrades, foodsafe countertops, food-safe storage, and a moveable fold-up
storage system.

Id like acknowledge our funding partners at the Nova Scotia

Economic and Rural Development and Tourism, the Town of
Wolfville, and the Municipality of the County of Kings for their
support of this initiative.

As well, we recognize the continuing contribution of Acadia

University, who have illustrated once again what a strong member
of the regional community they are by hosting this year-round
farmers market in the DeWolfe Building.

Most importantly, Id like to thank and congratulate the Board of

Directors of the Wolfville Farmers Market, local artisans and food
producers and patrons of the market for your part in building
prosperity right here in Wolfville.

Your commitment to the people of this region is most appreciated.

I wish you continued success.

Thank you.
