Your Natal Graphic Ephemeris What is a Graphic Ephemeris? A Graphic Ephemeris is ¢ graphic presentation of planetary aspee!s, including alanetary retrogrades, as well os New Moons and Full Moons—these are made for a year’s duration. They con show just fransiting planets or they can also show aspects of transiting planets to natal planets (or to other types of planetary placements, like progressions, returns, composits, etc.). Graphic ‘emerides make it very easy to see your planetary aspects and planetary cycles at glanes. Once understanding how they work, Graphic Ephemerides can become on invaluable tool for the astrologer or for anyone using tnerepeutic or healing technologies or methodologies. How they are Made and How they Work we were to toke a series of astrology charts of daily transits, spaced one day a the daily movement of all of the planets through their respective signs in each successive chart. If we do this for year, we have 365 charts. The planetary placements for each day of the year are plotted on a graph, which results in a year-long Graphic Ephemeris. d see To illustrate this process: The graph below h 9 days and c showing degrees {showing just several degrees of one sign of the zodiac in this example). If we take a specific planet's location from each sequential chart and place it as a dot under the corresponding dey of the graph, @ curved line of the plane's movement over time results. A planet movi through the graph as it progresses in degrees through the sign. When the plonet enters its retrograde period, the line would change directions ond move upwara in the graph. When it completes its retrograde, it would change directions again, moving downward through the graph. The following graph is an example of Jupiter's movement (during Its retrograde} over a few month period. = Dearees Daye 10 Jupiter Retoyrade Movement, ack though ase & upters orect Maven ‘roughage Juptars Dest Movement "ough aign W ther 1s moving through the same sign, and we plotted th graph, we would see their lines cross whenever Inose planels conjoin. For example, in the illustration below, Mors moves ratner avickly compared to Jupiter's several month transit through @ sign, so we see the Mars Ine enter and exist the graph quickly, covering lust @ about a month long period. in contrast, Pluto's transit through a sign takes several years due to Pluto's exlra slow movement, It's retrograde swings (or loops} are only © couple of degrees as well, s0 the path it makes through the graph is @ long horizontal curve. e are @ few plan: all'on the some eR reer rer er re epee ere renee Peper reer ee Daye rstanst 10 ‘trough aur supers Drect Wovemene “hreugh aan JupersRetroaae Movement Sockcigh gr upers Dect Maven ‘rouaha sian omy she rue nnncioney tara \ retarue /*9 ~ pte Fito Conncton enone 3 Next, we create a graph of each sign, 30° each. Then we overlay all twelve of them. Now we see no! only the conjunctions oecutting in each sign, but also all hat are 30° of a muliple of 30° (semi-sextile, sextile, square, trine, opposition, and quincunx}. Obviously. you need to know which sign each planet is in to know which type of aspect is occurring, The illustration below is of a full 30° Grophic Ephemeris for the first six months of 2104, ‘ther types of Ephemerides can be made using different divisions of the ecliptic otner than 30°, such as 45° oF 90°, which reveal! different plonetary relationships, Hellocentric ephemerides can be mace as well Notice how easy it Is to quickly see significant aspects. In this ephemeris below, the confluence o bold lines oceutting in April blatantly grabs our attention. 1! includes Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter and retrograde Mars, Also note the quick riggers created my Mercury (vertical green line} and Veni [vertical blue Ine) immediately before the primary event. Notice as well that the event occurs between the mid-April Full Moon Eclipse and the late-April Solar Eclipse. This happens to be the gran¢ finale of the Jupiter-Uranus-Plute T-Square that began in August 2013, now completed by retrograde Mars, forming a Gran Squa! 201830" Graphic ephemeris Now seeing when this occurs in the ephemeris, we con = = also create an astrology chart to see the details, os well as to look for ather points of interest (in this case narrowing in on the Moon-Plute lunar 0 9 Square) Shinn ion of this > TTT ts You can see an example of a more comps link: Current Graphic Ephemeris. chensive Graphic Ephemeris for the current year via this Your Natal Graphic Ephemeris Now understanding the basics of how a Graphic 13 how it works, let us now ‘apply this to 9 Notal Chart. If we plot the planetary lines of @ natal chart into an ephemeris timeline graph, they will simoly be flat horizontal lines because the natal chart is a static chart of some moment in time, As on e: ng the transiting plonets in just one sign}. All charts show sidereal signs, both for transiting ond natal planeis, and for New and Full Moons, Note: Sidereal transit colcviations produce aspect dates based on tne actual placement of plonels relative to the stars in the heavens since they account for Earth's precession from the time you were barn. Tropical transit calculations do not because they are based upon the: location of natal planets in the tropical signs, which move relative to the stars at the rate of Earth's precession. this is especiolly significant for slower moving planets. tke Pluto transiting the ASG, which can be different by several weeks using topical calculations.
