Reflection from prior lesson:
They did well with the lesson and they enjoy working on the iPads. I think this next time
I am going to have to switch up partners in the classroom because they are starting to get
silly with each other because they have worked in the same group over and over again.
They are starting to get more comfortable with me so they are starting to get a little more
talkative.
Lesson Goal(s) / Standards:

K.CT.1.1 Describe technology using accurate terminology.

K.CC.3 Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a


written numeral 0-20

Lesson Objectives:
After the lesson, students will be able to follow all 5 rules when prompted by the teacher.
After the lesson, students will be able to write the numbers 0-20 correctly with 100%
accuracy on each number.
Materials Needed:

7 iPads

Rules on the board

13 Number writing worksheet

13 fill in the blank number worksheets

Contextual Factors/ Learner Characteristics:

13 students

5-6 years old

They are in pods

White and Native American

Different level of knowledge

A. The Lesson
1. Introduction (2 minuets)
o Today we are going to be working on the iPads with numbers.
o We are going to be working through our numbers 1 thru 20. I am going to
stretch you to get you to know what all of the numbers are.
2. Content Delivery (20 minuets)
o We are going to go over the rules before we start.
o Who can tell me what the first rule is?
o The second rule is to always carry the iPad with two hands. Can everyone
show me how?
o The next rule is to stay seated when using the iPads.
o When you set down the iPad we are not going to hit, bang, or slam the
iPad down. Can everyone show me the way that we need to set the iPad
down?
o We are now going to work on these rules. Let us go down to the
bathrooms to wash our hands. Be sure that we are washing our hands the
best that we can.
o I am going to partner you up and then number you off with a 1 or a 2.
o

2s can you come up and get your iPad?

o 1s please unlock the iPad and find the app that we were working on
yesterday?

o Once found, please find the one that has a number on it and we are going
to work on writing our numbers the best that we can.
o Please do 2 numbers and then change to your partner.
3. Closure (7 minuets)
o I am now going to have you all work on writing your numbers so can we
please take out a printing pencil. Please write your name at the top of the
page.
o I am going to let you now take the time to trace over the letters. When you
are done, put your pencil down.
o Now that we are done with our numbers, I am going to have you fill in the
blanks of the numbers that are missing. You can use the paper that you just
filled out to fill in the numbers that are missing.
o Once you are done will you please turn in both of your pages to Mrs.
Meyers mailbox.
