Lesson introduction and material presentation: The
students have been learning 20 different words, how to

spell them and the definitions. We are going to get a little
creative to see how much the kids have been practicing
and learning their new words.

The Lesson Structure: Activities


There will be two different stations, Osmo station and
Smart Board station. There will be split into two teams but
four different lines at each station starting from 10 feet
away from the Osmo station and Smart Board. At the
Smart Board station I will use Word Cloud Generator to
scatter all their vocabulary words on the screen. I will read
the definition of a word and the first person in each line are
given a fly swatter and will race to the board to find the
word that fits with the definition. When they think they
know the answer, they will use a fly swatter to gently swat
the correct word and hold it there till it is confirmed to be
correct. When those two kids are done there they go to the
back of the line at the Osmo station. At the Osmo station I
used the Osmo interactive words and had the same thing,
two lines and the first person in each line will race to the
Ipad. A picture will show up describing one of their vocab
words. The student that gets the most letters in that word
wins.

Closing/Assessment
The students will draw a picture and write a paragraph (3-5
sentences) describing it using all the vocab words to see how
much they learned or knew.
Homework

Monitor/Feedback

None. But extra credit opportunity! Create a song to remember


all the words together.
