Coordinating with the Towson University English Language Center (ELC), I serve as an
English Conversation Partner for international students who wish to improve their
conversational English abilities. Although in an informal setting, I teach individuals oneon-one about the English language and American culture.

Dumbarton Middle School [Baltimore County, MD]

Observational Volunteer
Observed a 6th grade Reading class, an 8th grade English Language Arts class, and a
range of ESOL classes for approximately 15 hours during the two months we were
allotted. Participated in the classroom environments by building relations with students,
assisting them in classwork assignments, and asking higher-order questions to spur their
learning.

Dragon's World Chinese School [Montgomery County, MD]

English Teacher / Teaching Assistant (K-7)
As an English Teacher and Teaching Assistant at a local bilingual Chinese-English
summer school, I was able to teach students (from K-7th grade) English grammar through
daily instruction via lessons and practicing for song recitals. Oftentimes, I would co-teach
with other individuals for the Kindergarten class.
