Say: We just sang a song about shapes lets see if we can find
all these shapes.
Do: Hold up the shapes we just sang about and show them what
they will be finding.
Say: Now let me show you how to hop to a shape. When I hold
it up you will hop to the shape or a movement that I say. Now let me
see you try. And start the game.

during the activity.
I will use different movements to get to a shape. I will also let
children take turns calling out a shape and movement.
Modification/Adaptations:
I can have shapes for them to physically touch.
I can learn the shapes in different languages to accommodate
those children.
Closing and transition: Say: we have had so much fun learning about
our shapes and moving in different ways but it is now time to pick up
the shapes and hand them to a teacher. Let us get into our rocket ships
and when I say blast off let us fly to our rug for circle time.
Allotted time: (usually about 15-20 minutes) 20 min.
Assessment of childrens progress toward meeting objectives:
How did the children do with the different movements? Do we
need to practice more of these movements?
What other activities could be used to help improve these movements?
