Professional Meetings

September 30, 2015

Being able to be apart of the Leadership Team has been a great
learning opportunity for me to have this semester. I have had the
opportunity to help lead the Morning Intervention portion of the
leadership team. In order to plan for the first semester of Morning
Intervention (MI) it took a great deal of planning and communicating
with both the assistant principal at Trace Crossings and with the Title
One teachers. On September 30th I had the opportunity of meeting with
all three of the current Title One teachers with two other peers. The
goal of meeting with them was to learn more about the students we
would be working with as well as any data we needed to obtain about
the students before working with them. Once meeting with them they
provided us with a list of students we would be serving as well as
information pertaining to subject areas they work with the students on.
This information is very important for MI. The Title One teachers were
very excited to meet with us and discuss what we had planned for the
students. They didnt give us any limitations on what we could and
could not do with the students. They were very open to us coming in
and working with their students. The meeting was very successful and
greatly beneficial to helping us prepare for MI with the students. I am
very excited to begin Morning Intervention and think it will be very
successful semester.
Morning Intervention was approaching soon and there were several
details that we needed in order to be prepared for the students. We
still needed an exact date and time that we would begin Morning
Intervention (MI) and the procedures that would need to be followed to
gather the students. In order to gain that information I would need to
talk with the Vice Principal Mrs. Stone. After previously emailing her I
was able to meet with her to discuss the details needed to begin MI.
One day after class she met with several other leadership committees,
Morning Intervention being one of them. Mrs. Stone expressed her
excitement for the teams coming to help with events and student
academics at Trace Crossings. She shared some advice with us, a few
things to keep in mind when working with the students and teachers.
After discussing this she began to share with the committees what she
needed them to do and what responsibilities they would be responsible
for while at Trace. During this time I was able to gain information
regarding MI procedures. Students would be picked up from their
classroom they would take their breakfast with them and would be
taken to the Samford classroom or Morning Intervention classroom. I
was also able to set up a starting MI date with her as well, September

29th. Samford students would be asked be arrive at Trace at 7:15 and

would gather the students they would be working with at 7:30.
Students would be taken back to their classrooms at 8:00. I was able to
share this information with the remainder of the MI team and we
created a resource guide for our peers so they would be able to follow
the procedure given to us.
