Dear Ashley,
Thank you for considering me for the Technology Leadership Program Engineer role! I
loved working as a Tech Intern last summer, and would be delighted to receive an offer to
return next summer as a full-time employee. Target is one of my favorite stores because it
strives to be better. Target rewards guests with wider aisles, cleaner floors, and better
decoration than other stores. It rewards its employees even better, with great benefits and a
comfortable work environment.
As you know, I spent the summer building a web application for Target. Before the
internship, I hadnt done much web development. By the end, I had learned how to build a
web application from the ground up, complete with a database, server-side logic, and a
client-side user interface.
I am skilled in Java, Javascript, and Swift, which are all vital languages at Target. I have
experience in developing everything from embedded applications to modern mobile
applications. I have built extensive business applications in class and can put together a web
server. I know about performance optimization and low-level details such as caching and
thrashing. From my background in computer engineering, along with my work experience
with higher-level tasks, I know the full stack. I would be a valuable asset in any development
role.
