Certainscientistbelieveweathermodificationmaybeunethicalduetothepotential
harmsitcouldcause,butbyconvincingtheAmericanMeteorologicalSocietythat
weathermodificationcanbeapotentiallifesavingtechniquetheymaybeableto
convinceotherscientistinthefieldthatitisatechniquethatshouldbestudied.
Thesis/Purpose
Thepurposeofthisdocumentistoencouragethesciencecommunity,throughthe
AmericanMeteorologicalSociety,toresearchthesubcategoryofweathermodification,
cloudseeding,tobeusedtolessentheeffectsofhurricanes.Ifeffectivethiswould
eventuallyhelptoimplementweathermodifyingtechniques,whichcouldreducethe
lossesfromhurricanes.
Motive
Whilesomeexperimentationaboutcloudseedinghurricaneshasbeenconducted
inthepast,notmanypeopleknowaboutthistechnologyorhavebeenresearchingit
further.IbelievethatwiththeevidenceIhavefoundthroughmyinvestigationsIcan
convinceorganizationsliketheAmericanMeteorologicalSocietytoconductfurther
researchonthispotentiallifesavingtechnology.Themainmotiveofthisliterature
reviewistopotentiallysavelivesduetotheseverityofhurricanes.
