Activity Observed: Juggling Scarves

DIRECTIONS: You will observe many children performing many different kinds of skills. Select 8 (or as many
as you can) different tasks and describe how the high skilled students and the low skilled students are
performing.

Task
1
Juggling Scarves

Higher Skilled

Lower Skilled

Can throw several scarves up and

catch them, can clap in between
throwing the scarves up, can throw
the scarves up then spin around
and then catch them, good at
keeping their eyes on the target,
fast reactions

They have slow reactions, they

will throw the scarves up too far
apart from each other so its too
hard to catch all the scarves, or
they dont throw the scarves up
high enough which doesnt give
them enough time to do a trick in
between throwing and catching the
scarf. Some of the students do the
crocodile type of catch which isnt
beneficial.
