Psychomotor (P): SWBAT shoot a soccer ball between the two modified goalie cones with a
70% success rate.
Cognitive (C): SWBAT acknowledge the COTS of the soccer pass, dribble, and shooting with an

H-R Fitness (H): SWBAT remain physically active, while engaging in 50% MVPA 85% of the
time during the activity.
During my lesson for this week, I feel as though I was able to reach my student learning
objectives when it came to the psychomotor and cognitive portions of the lesson. I feel this way
because by the end of the lesson, the students were able to correctly execute the COTS of the
soccer pass and shooting the soccer ball into the next, or between the cones in our case. Students
1

were also able to recite the COTS for the soccer pass and shot by the end of the lesson. However,
I was not able to achieve the minimum percentage of MVPA. After reviewing the SOs I
discovered that the class was only active six hundred and sixty seconds which was only eleven
minutes. It was however an improvement from last weeks lessons.
Creating a Quality Learning Environment:
Through the students participation, I felt as though I successfully addressed the four
criteria of the students learning experience. Even though I did not reach my activity goal, the
students were actively engaged within the lesson. They showed excitement and interest
throughout the lesson. They were provided an ample amount of time for practice regarding the
time we had allotted for the class period. Before the students began game play, students
participated in groups which helped them gain much needed practice time before engaging in
game play.
When comparing last weeks instruction time to this weeks instruction time used, I did
much better. I did not use as much time providing instructions to the class. The documented time
was approximately six point seventy five minutes. However, the time I spent managing the class
was increased to ten minutes, which took up too much time. After viewing the documented
information I noticed that I was making adjustments in the wrong areas without knowing it. In
order to improve in these areas I could have had the students to concentrate on one skill at a time
and not inforce a new skill if the students are not ready to move on to the next level.
Strengths and Weaknesses in Pedagogical Skill Sets:
Before the start of the lesson, all students were seated on the white base line. The class
had already been set up and equipment been placed at the appropriate stations. I provided the
2

class with full detailed instructions which I felt was short, clear, and concise. I also provided the
class with visual and verbal COTS that were demonstrated by student volunteers. During this
lesson, I paced myself throughout the activity area while providing feedback and encouragement
to the students. Much of my feedback was evenly divided throughout he lesson weather it was
individually or speaking to a group. This process allowed me to reinforce the COTS throughout
the lesson. I also used a group who were demonstrating the COTS correctly and had the class to
pay attention to their technique. At the end of the lesson all students were directed to pick up all
equipment and place it neatly in the equipment bag. For those that were not following direction
were called out and was given a warning.
Recommendations:
As I go into next week, I will continue to focus on trying to increase my MVPA. I will try
to arrange my lesson in a way that the students are more actively engaged. I will try to focus on
keeping my instructions down to a minimum because this will help me to increase my MVPA. I
will also continue to work on my idiosyncrasies. Even though I understand that simple words
such as OK can be hard to get away from and I sometimes dont know that Im saying it. As for
my SOs I will try to lower my expectations just a little and try to take it slow because I
understand that some skills can be a lot for students to process.
